Perhaps the perfect summer caffinator. Tastes just as sublime in winter. Although you can use tea bags, it tastes better with loose-leaf tea which will make the flavor richer and more complex.

  • 2 tablespoons loose-leaf black tea
  • 1 pod star anise
  • 2 pods cardamom
  • 1/2 cinnamon stick, optional
  • 1/8 vanilla bean, optional
  • Tamarind powder, to taste, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons evaporated milk, or coconut milk, or whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons of cannamilk
  1. Steep the tea, star anise, cardamom, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, tamarind powder, cannabutter, brown sugar and almond extract in the boiling water for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain and pour into mugs for hot tea or pour into pitcher to use later for cold chai iced tea.
  3. Top off with condensed sweetened milk or whole milk but don't stir to give it that authentic, creamy-delicious look.
