The ultimate comfort food. Poutine (or beef gravy fries for the uninitiated) is a glorious concoction from our friends in the great north. Time this right and you will provide a feast that will sustain you and your guests in their hearts, minds and souls.

  • Fries & Cheese
  • 2 pounds of juilienne-cut potatoes
  • 1 cup of fresh cheese curds (pro tip: find a local creamery)
  • salt to taste
  • Gravy (use pre-made McCormacks)
  • 6 tbsp cannabis butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan (high heat) and turn on oven (350 degrees)
  2. Use a mandolin slicer to cut matchsticks from washed and peeled potatoes 
  3. Soak potato sticks in ice water for 20 minutes; drain and pat dry.
  4. Fry potato sticks in small batches (1 cup at a time) then place on paper towels to allow oil to seep off.
  5. Toss together the hot french fries with cheese in an ovenproof dish or skillet and place in oven.
  6. Gravy time! 
  7. Melt cannabutter over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add in the pepper & whisk to combine. Slowly add in a 1/4 cup of flour while constantly whisking. After a minute or two of whisking the mixture will start to thicken.
  8. Slowly pour the chicken & beef broth into the flour-butter mixture while whisking constantly. Continue whisking until it is smooth and consistent. Allow to cook several minutes until thickened.
  9. Pour your desired amount of gravy on top of fries and put them back in the oven for two minutes to let the cheese to finish melting.
  10. Remove from oven and finish with a sprinkle with green onion, sea salt and fresh cracked pepper.
  11. Serve immediately & enjoy!
