Afgoo does one job and does it the same way every time.

Also spelled Afgooey, it is a cross of a Maui sativa and an Afghani indica that traces back to the 1980s. The name is a joke about how you feel after smoking it and about how sticky the flowers are. It is a plain, heavy, resin-caked nighttime indica with no twist to explain.

Afgoo is a body strain headed for sleep. Leafly's breakdown leads with relaxed at 51 percent, then euphoric, sleepy and happy clustered in the mid-forties, with a light uplifted note early on. The build is gradual: a mild head lift, then a heavy, dreamy weight that runs across the whole body. It belongs in the evening.

Dry mouth is common at 35 percent, with dry eyes and some dizziness behind it. There is no real surprise in the arc, which is the appeal for people who want a dependable wind-down. It is a poor fit for daytime, for focus or for anyone wanting a heady experience.

Afgoo is earthy and piney with a spicy, herbal edge and a nutty, woody undertone. Some cuts carry a light skunk. It is a rich, organic smell rather than a sweet one, and the flavor holds the earth and pine through the exhale.

Afgoo THC runs from about 17 to 28 percent in our records, with the lab-measured sample near 18 and the higher figures coming from older reported testing. CBD is a trace; one reading near 6 percent is an artifact and is not used. It is a solidly potent strain, and the higher end is worth respecting for a light or occasional smoker.
