Origin
Blueberry is generally given as an Afghani indica crossed with Thai and Purple Thai sativa lines, worked by DJ Short into a stable strain by the early 1980s; some accounts route it through an intermediate called Juicy Fruit. The exact recipe varies by source, but the DJ Short attribution is consistent. It is one of the most important breeding parents in the modern catalog, sitting behind a long line of berry-flavored strains, so with Blueberry the specific seed line and breeder are much of what you are choosing.

The difficulty to grow Blueberry is known for being easy. For growers cultivating indoors, expect 30–80 in height with a 18oz/ m2 yield with in about 9 wk. Outdoors, harvest around mid-October.
Cultivation Notes
Blueberry is a moderate grow with a reputation for being finicky about feeding and slow to establish, then generous once it does. It finishes around mid-October outdoors, with reported indoor yield near 18 ounces per square meter and more per plant outside. It has standard resistance to mold and pests. Cooler finishing temperatures bring out the blue and purple color. Grower and breeder figures.

About
Blueberry is the strain that made tastes-like-the-fruit a real claim.
The breeder DJ Short built it in the late 1970s from Afghani indica and Thai sativa stock, and its unmistakable ripe-blueberry smell has kept it on shelves for four decades. It picked up a High Times Cup for best indica in 2000 and has since become one of the most-used breeding parents in cannabis, with dozens of descendants carrying the berry note forward.
What to Expect
Blueberry is a heavy, calm body high with a slow drift toward sleep. Leafly's breakdown leads with relaxed at 60 percent, then happy, with euphoric and sleepy behind and only a light uplifted note. The come-up is gentle and the weight builds. It belongs in the evening.
A modest amount is a pleasant, dreamy wind-down; more moves fairly quickly toward the couch and then to bed. Dry mouth is common at 28 percent, with dry eyes behind it and a dizzy note for a few at larger doses. Skip it for daytime, for focus, or if you want to stay clear-headed.
Flavor and Aroma
Blueberry smells like the fruit, plainly and strongly: ripe blueberry and sweet berry over a light earthy, piney base, with a vanilla note some cuts carry. It is one of the cleaner single-flavor strains. The taste holds the berry through the exhale, where a faint sugar sweetness comes forward.
Terpenes Explained
Blueberry has not been through a full terpene test in our data. The names that recur across our sources are Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Pinene, Linalool and Humulene, without amounts attached, so this is a description of the likely smell rather than a profile to compare.
Worth knowing about DJ Short's line: it throws a wide range of phenotypes, and seed packs vary noticeably in smell, color and finish. The deep blue in the buds comes from cold night temperatures late in flowering, not from anything about potency. Judge the specific cut in front of you.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Blueberry THC runs from the mid teens to the mid twenties in our records, with the lab-measured sample near 22; the very low figures in our data come from an autoflower version and do not apply here. CBD is a trace. That is a solid, upper-middle potency.
The number is not what to shop on with Blueberry. Buy the cut with the strongest berry nose, not the highest label figure.
