Candyland is a cross of Granddaddy Purple and Platinum Cookies, bred by Ken Estes, who was on the team behind the original Granddaddy Purple. Our records do not carry a formal lineage entry, but the breeder account is consistent across sources. The Granddaddy Purple side brings the color and the body; Platinum Cookies the sweetness and the polish. With five descendants and a Cup win, the seed line has a real track record.

Candyland is a candy name on a piney, high-yielding workhorse.
Bred by Ken Estes in the San Francisco Bay Area from Granddaddy Purple and Platinum Cookies, it took gold at the 2012 KushCon in Denver. Estes helped breed the original Granddaddy Purple, so the pedigree here is unusually well documented. It has five descendants on file.
What to Expect
Candyland is an upbeat daytime hybrid. Leafly's breakdown leads with happy at 62 percent, then uplifted at 53, euphoric at 49, relaxed at 45 and energetic at 41, from a solid number of reviews, so it lifts the mood and the energy while keeping enough body calm to stay comfortable. It suits creative work, chores, daytime company.
The downside list is mild: dry mouth for about a fifth of reviewers at 19 percent, then dry eyes and an occasional dizzy or headache note lower down. It is a weak choice for sleep or a heavy body effect.
Flavor and Aroma
Candyland smells more like a pine forest than a candy shop: earthy, herbal and sharply piney, with the sweetness sitting underneath rather than on top. The flavor brings the candy note forward a little more, but the pine and earth stay in charge. It is a drier, cleaner profile than the name implies.
