Origin
Deadhead OG is a cross of Chemdawg 91 and SFV OG Kush, credited to Skunk VA at Cali Connection in California, around 2011. That parentage is consistent across our sources, though it is sometimes written with the parents reversed. The Chemdawg side carries the fuel and the cerebral lift; the SFV OG side the pine and the body. It has a small set of descendants, and it remains a reference point for the pungent OG-and-Chem style.

Cultivation Notes
Deadhead OG is a medium-sized plant with a strong structure that supports its dense buds. It finishes fast, in as little as six to nine weeks, with medium yields, roughly 25 to 30 grams per plant in the grower notes we have. It takes moderate feeding and trains well for sea-of-green setups, and it can throw phenotypes that lean lemon or lean skunk. Grower and breeder figures.

About
Deadhead OG smells louder than it hits.
It is a cross of Chemdawg 91 and SFV OG Kush, made by the breeder Skunk VA at Cali Connection in 2011, and named for the Grateful Dead's touring fans. The nose is heavy pine, fuel and dank kush, the kind of smell that promises a wall. The high is steadier than that.
What to Expect
Deadhead OG is a balanced head-and-body high. Leafly's breakdown clusters happy, relaxed and euphoric around 53 percent, with an uplifted note early and a lighter creative one, and reviewers describe it as clear enough to stay useful rather than sedating. Some reach for it in the morning.
Dry mouth is common at 34 percent, with dry eyes behind it and a dizzy or briefly paranoid note for a small share at larger doses. It is a poor fit for anyone wanting a knockout body strain or a purely energetic daytime lift.
Flavor and Aroma
Deadhead OG is pungent pine and diesel over a dank, earthy kush base, with a spicy edge and, in some cuts, a lemon note. It is a strong, classic OG-and-Chem smell. The flavor follows, pine and fuel with an earthy finish on the exhale.
Terpenes Explained
Deadhead OG has a full measured panel, and Myrcene leads it by a clear margin, with Pinene highly variable behind it and smaller amounts of Caryophyllene, Bisabolol and Linalool.
This is a useful case. Myrcene is the terpene most often blamed for couch-lock, yet Deadhead OG reads as a balanced, functional high that some people use early in the day. What a strain smells like, and what its dominant terpene is, tells you very little about how it will actually feel.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Deadhead OG THC runs from the mid teens to mid twenties in our records, with the lab-measured sample near 18 and older sources claiming 25. CBD is a trace. That is a solid, upper-middle potency without being extreme.
The number tracks the experience reasonably here. A mid-range, well-cured batch delivers the character without the heaviness the smell suggests.
