Delahaze

Delahaze is a Haze that skips most of what makes Haze difficult.

Bred by Paradise Seeds in Amsterdam from Mango Haze and Lemon Skunk, it took second place in the sativa category at a High Times Cannabis Cup. Where a classic Haze means a marathon flowering time and a punishing high, Delahaze is quicker to finish and easier to take.

Haze strains have a reputation for a racing, anxious, overwhelming high. Delahaze mostly avoids it. Leafly's breakdown leads with happy at 69 percent, then uplifted at 61, energetic at 59, focused at 50 and euphoric at 47, from a solid number of reviews, and sources describe the onset as slow and the peak as smooth and clear rather than jittery.

Dry mouth is the main complaint, and at 13 percent it is low, with an anxious note for only about one in twenty. The effects are long-lasting, so leave time. It is a daytime strain for getting things done.

Delahaze is sweet citrus and tropical fruit, with a lemon-and-mango brightness the breeders point to, over an earthy, faintly spicy base. The flavor is more restrained than the smell, earthy and lightly spiced with the citrus pulled back. The aroma develops late in flower, so fresh cuts show it best.

No lab has profiled Delahaze's terpenes in our data. The recurring names are Myrcene, Caryophyllene and Limonene, without amounts. Growers describe a lemon-and-mango terpene profile that forms in the last weeks of flowering, but there are no numbers here to confirm it.

Because that aroma arrives late and fades with age, the freshness of the jar tells you more than the strain name does.

Delahaze THC is reported around 15 to 18 percent, a moderate level for a sativa, with the bottom of our range on obvious data noise. CBD is absent. The moderate potency is part of why the high stays smooth rather than sharp.

Expect a mid-teens to high-teens strain and treat any Haze-typical claim of extreme potency here as unlikely.
