Emerald OG

Hybrid

Origin

Emerald OG is Fire OG crossed with Emerald Diesel, then backcrossed to another Fire OG, so the line is heavily Fire OG. It was bred by the California Breeders Association. It has no descendants on file. The double dose of Fire OG is why it lands as a deep, sedating indica rather than a balanced one.

About

Emerald OG is a Fire OG backcross with a slow, easy-to-miss onset.

The California Breeders Association crossed Fire OG with Emerald Diesel, then bred it back to another Fire OG. The result is a moderate indica, 17 to 22 percent, that takes its time before a deep relaxation lands. Give it a few minutes.

The onset is slow.

What to Expect

Emerald OG comes on slowly and then settles into a heavy, sedating calm. Leafly's reviewers lead with relaxed at 85 percent of a solid sample, one of the highest in this batch, with sleepiness at 44 and a light cerebral lift early. Sources note you may not feel it right away.

Negatives are light, topped by dry mouth at 26 percent, with the anxious and dry-eye readings near 5. The main thing to plan for is the slow onset, not a side effect. This is a night strain.

Flavor and Aroma

Emerald OG smells pungent and citrusy with an earthy, floral base. The flavor is mild and fruity with citrus over earth. It is a softer, less fuel-forward take on an OG.

Terpenes Explained

Emerald OG has no terpene lab work in our records, with Humulene, Camphene, Caryophyllene, Linalool and Ocimene named and nothing quantified.

The mild citrus-and-floral character sits in compounds a standard panel does not report, which is part of why it reads softer than a typical OG. A jar with a genuine fruity lift over the earth is the well-grown one.

Cannabinoids and Potency

Emerald OG THC is reported from about 17 to 22 percent, moderate by modern standards, with no clean lab sample in our data. Sources call it suitable for mildly experienced smokers. CBD is a trace, with a little CBC.

Emerald OG is a moderate strain with a delayed onset, so wait a while before deciding you need more.
