Green Crack

Sativa

Origin

Green Crack traces to Skunk #1, with some accounts adding a Sweet Leaf or Afghani indica and others keeping it closer to a straight Skunk selection. The origin details and the people involved are disputed, and the Snoop Dogg renaming is the one part every account agrees on. For a strain this widely grown, the name tells you to expect bright daytime energy and a citrus-earth profile, and the producer tells you whether this particular batch delivers it.

The difficulty to grow Green Crack is known for being easy. For growers cultivating indoors, expect 1–3 m height with a 18oz/ m2 yield with in about 7–9 wk. Outdoors, harvest around Late September, Early October.

Cultivation Notes

Green Crack is rated easy and grows well indoors or out, though it is susceptible to powdery mildew, so growers are told to keep humidity down and clear the lower branches for airflow. It flowers in roughly 49 to 63 days, stretches tall and can throw purple leaves in a cold finish. Reported yields are generous, around 18 ounces per square meter indoors. Warm, dry conditions around 70 to 80 degrees suit it.

About

Green Crack was a Skunk #1 selection called Cush until, as the story goes, Snoop Dogg tried it and renamed it for the way the energy hit. Plenty of shops still label it Green Cush to sidestep the reference. The rest of the history, a grower named Cecil in 1970s Georgia, a handoff to someone called Bunz, an Afghani cut somewhere in the line, is argued over.

The name does a lot of work, and most of it is misdirection. A name that aggressive implies a punishing high. The reports describe something much calmer.

What to Expect

Smoked, Green Crack is a fast, clear head lift with a focus edge and very little body under it. It is the best-sampled strain in this group, and the Leafly numbers hold steady: across roughly 9,700 reviews, 60 percent report energetic, 54 happy, 53 uplifted and 40 focused.

None of that reads like a warning. The reports describe something closer to a strong coffee than a rush, useful for getting moving in the morning or grinding through a task list. It earns its place in daytime work and gets in the way of winding down, because the energy does not fade on a schedule. The honest counterpoint: this strain carries more paranoia and anxiety in its reviews than the other daytime names here, roughly one in twelve for paranoia and one in sixteen for anxiety. Still a minority, but enough that the move is obvious. Keep the first dose small.

Flavor and Aroma

Nose-first, Green Crack is citrus and sweet tropical fruit over a fresh earthy base, with mango and papaya turning up in a lot of descriptions and a light skunk underneath from the Skunk #1 side. Broken apart it gets earthier and a little peppery. The flavor is brighter than the smell, mostly citrus and sweetness with a clean finish.

Terpenes Explained

Green Crack makes a clean point about terpene labels. The measured panel puts Myrcene on top by a wide margin, roughly a third to two thirds of a percent, ahead of Caryophyllene, with Linalool and Limonene behind.

Myrcene is the compound most often blamed for couch-lock and sedation. Green Crack is the strain half the internet reaches for as the example of daytime energy. Both of those are true at once, and a terpene list still does not predict the high. Onset, dose, the full chemical profile, tolerance and setting all matter, and the shorthand that maps one terpene to one feeling falls apart on exactly this kind of case. Use the panel to recognize the aroma and compare batches, not to guess how a jar will make you feel.

Cannabinoids and Potency

Green Crack THC runs a wide range in our records, from the low teens to the mid twenties, with the lab-measured samples nearer the middle. CBD is a trace. CBG sits near one percent.

The range mostly reflects how many phenotypes and grows carry the name, including a less common indica-leaning version. For the daytime use most people want, a mid-range batch is usually the better call, since the point is a clear head rather than a ceiling.
