Guava

Guava is a Gelato phenotype with a tropical name it does not fully earn.

Our source calls it a selection off the Gelato line, mostly sativa, built for flavor and a bright afternoon high. The name points at guava; the aroma data points somewhere more citrus and fuel.

Guava is a slow-building daytime strain. Leafly's small sample leads with uplifted and happy at 50 percent, then a talkative, euphoric edge, with relaxation behind, so it reads as an easy, sociable lift rather than a jolt. Sources describe the onset as a creep.

The recorded downsides are a headache note and an anxious edge, both uncommon. Because it builds slowly, give the first dose time before adding more.

Guava is less tropical than the name suggests. The aroma is sweet and sour citrus with a diesel sharpness and a grape note underneath, more Gelato than fruit stand. The flavor turns earthier and spicier, with a piney edge and a sour-fruit tang. It is a complex smell rather than a simple guava one.

Guava has a measured terpene panel in our data, and it is unusually balanced between Limonene and Caryophyllene, both around 0.7 to 1.0 percent, with Humulene and Linalool behind. That is a citrus-and-pepper profile with a soft floral edge.

What the panel does not explain is the guava impression the name trades on. A standard nine-terpene reading misses the minor compounds that make a fruit smell specific, so the numbers tell you the citrus is real but not whether the guava is. Smell the jar for that.

Guava THC is reported from about 19 to 26 percent, with the lab-measured sample near 23, so this is a strong strain across the range. CBD is a trace. The figures agree closely.

Expect a strong strain in the low twenties and buy the batch whose smell matches what you want, since the potency barely moves.
