Hawaiian is a foundational sativa whose own genetics got lost along the way.

It has grown on the islands for decades and became a building block for countless modern sativa hybrids, but its own parentage is unrecorded. What survives is the tropical flavor and a bright, then mellow, high.

Hawaiian starts up and settles down. Leafly's breakdown leads with happy at 71 percent, then uplifted at 53 and relaxed at 51, with euphoric and creative behind, from a solid number of reviews. Sources describe the arc as a bright tropical lift that eases into a beachy, unhurried calm.

At 21 percent, dry mouth is the top complaint; dry eyes, dizziness and a paranoid note are all rare. It is an afternoon strain, poor for tasks that need a hard edge.

Hawaiian is a fruit bowl: pineapple, mango, papaya and citrus with a sweet, almost candy-like edge. It is one of the more convincingly tropical strains on the menu. The flavor carries the pineapple and sweet citrus through the exhale.

A terpene panel exists for Hawaiian in our data, and it is Limonene-led, at roughly 0.4 to 0.5 percent, with Myrcene and Caryophyllene behind around 0.2 each. That is a citrus-forward profile with a soft peppery base, which lines up with the bright smell.

The fuller tropical impression, the papaya and fruit punch, comes from minor compounds the panel does not measure. The numbers confirm the citrus; the jar confirms the rest.

Hawaiian THC is reported from about 15 to 25 percent, with our records adding obvious noise at the low end and the lab sample corrupted. CBD is a trace. Most sources settle around 20 percent.
