Origin

Moonshine Haze is a cross of Nevil's Wreck and Amnesia Haze, from Rare Dankness Seeds, though our records carry no formal lineage entry. Both parents are Haze-family strains, which is where the floral citrus and the clear head come from. The name is doing more work than the effect, so go by the grower and the smell.

2 lineage claim sets recorded. The one shown is attributed to Rare Dankness Seeds; the others are in the tabs above, each with its own source.

About

Moonshine Haze is marketed as a strain that leaves you in a stupor, and the numbers disagree.

From Rare Dankness Seeds in Colorado, it crosses Nevil's Wreck with Amnesia Haze and took a best-sativa Cup in 2011. Sources lean hard on the bootleg-liquor name; the measured potency is more moderate than that.

What to Expect

The name promises an overpowering hit. Moonshine Haze is more measured than that. Leafly's breakdown leads with uplifted at 56 percent, then happy at 46, energetic at 43 and euphoric at 42, from a solid number of reviews, describing a bright, focused lift rather than a wall.

At 21 percent, dry mouth is the one notable downside; dry eyes, headache and an anxious note are all rare. It is a manageable afternoon strain, not the drunken stupor the marketing suggests.

Flavor and Aroma

Moonshine Haze is bright citrus and grapefruit with a clear floral note and an earthy, spicy base. It is a perfumed, fruit-forward smell, sweeter than a typical Haze. The flavor is sweet and floral with a tropical edge and a woody finish.

Terpenes Explained

Moonshine Haze has no terpene panel in our data, only Terpinolene, Caryophyllene and Linalool as recurring names without amounts. Terpinolene and Linalool would fit the sharp, floral character, but nothing here is measured.

That floral quality is the strain's signature and it fades with a rough cure. Smell a fresh jar for the perfumed note.

Cannabinoids and Potency

Moonshine Haze THC is advertised around 20 to 25 percent, but the lab-measured sample in our data came in near 16, and the band runs down to the mid-teens. The high figures are menu claims. CBD is absent.

Do not pay for the 25 percent claim; this is more likely a high-teens strain, so buy on a current test.
