Origin
Papaya's pedigree is told two ways: Jock Horror crossed with Skunk #1, or Citral #13 crossed with Ice #2, both from Nirvana. Either way it is a Skunk-heavy indica line, which is where the resin and the heavy body come from. It has eight descendants on file. The tropical flavor is the constant across every telling.

About
Papaya smells and tastes like the fruit and hits like a sedative.
It is a Nirvana strain with a genuine tropical papaya-and-mango flavor. Sources describe the effect as narcotic. THC readings are all over the place, from a low lab sample near 12 to source claims of 25. It numbs the body and makes you lazy.
Fruit up front, couch after.
What to Expect
Papaya is a heavy, numbing body stone with only a light mood lift on top. Leafly's reviewers lead with relaxed at 68 percent of a solid sample, with happiness at 55 and a euphoric, uplifted quality behind, sliding toward sleepy at 33. Sources call it lazy and tiring rather than energizing.
The reviewer negatives are light: dry mouth near 21 percent, dry eyes at 9 and a dizzy note around 6. Nothing about it is sharp. A moderate dose is plenty, and it is strictly for the evening.
Flavor and Aroma
Papaya smells sweet and tropical, genuinely of papaya and mango, with a peppery note underneath. The flavor keeps the tropical fruit and adds a spicy edge on the exhale. It is one of the more accurate fruit names in the catalog.
Terpenes Explained
Papaya's measured panel is led by Limonene, from about 0.7 to 0.85 percent, with Myrcene and Linalool behind and Caryophyllene lower.
Limonene usually reads as citrus, not tropical fruit, so the papaya and mango are coming from lighter aromatic compounds that a standard test does not capture. A jar that genuinely smells of ripe tropical fruit, not just sweetness, is the well-grown one.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Papaya THC is reported from about 20 to 25 percent by most sources, but the lab-measured sample in our data is only near 12, so real-world potency may sit lower. Either way the effect is heavy. CBD is a trace.
Papaya's sources claim the low-to-mid twenties, but the one clean lab sample is much lower, so let the jar's test set your dose.
