Skunk #1 was stabilized by Sacred Seeds in 1978 from Afghani, Mexican Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold, the first true-breeding cannabis hybrid. Its pungency and reliability made it a parent to a huge share of the modern catalog. It has 28 descendants on file here alone. The word skunk entered general use because of this one strain.

Skunk #1 is the strain that made "skunk" mean strong weed.
Sacred Seeds stabilized it in 1978 from Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold, the first fixed cannabis hybrid. Despite the reputation, it tests modest, around 15 to 19 percent, with an uplifting head high that hits behind the eyes. It is a foundation strain with 28 descendants on file.

What to Expect
Skunk #1 is an uplifting, energetic head high more than a body one, hitting hard behind the eyes. The reviewer sample is thin, but sources are consistent that this is a functional, daytime-capable effect despite the night tag. It is not the knockout its reputation implies.
Dry mouth and dry eyes are the only logged negatives. With a modest THC number and few reviews, a standard dose is a reasonable start.
Flavor and Aroma
Skunk #1 smells intensely of skunk, pungent and sour and sweet at once, over earth. The flavor keeps the skunk with a citrus edge. It is the reference point every other skunky strain is measured against.
