Origin

Tangerine Dream is G13 crossed with Neville's Haze, sometimes listed with an added Afghan, from Barney's Farm. Neither parent carries citrus; the orange flavor is a product of the cross. Its 2010 Cup win is a large part of the name's reach, and Barney's Farm keeps the seed line.

Barneys Farm's record agrees with 1 other breeder: Plantamaster Seeds.

About

Tangerine Dream tastes of orange with no orange anywhere in its lineage.

Barney's Farm crossed G13 with Neville's Haze, sometimes with an Afghan folded in, and named it for the band. It took first overall at a 2010 Cannabis Cup. The citrus is real and strong, and it comes entirely from the Haze side.

There is no citrus parent.

What to Expect

Tangerine Dream is a clear-headed, balanced high. Leafly's reviewers lead with happy at 64 percent of a solid sample, uplifted at 54 and euphoric at 52, with relaxed close behind, so it stays alert while the body loosens. Sources call it good for the end of a long day.

Dry eyes at 15 percent run a little ahead of the norm, with dry mouth at 25, and the anxious and paranoid notes are low. It is an easy strain for most tolerances. Not a heavy sedative despite the relaxing tail.

Flavor and Aroma

Tangerine Dream is a bold sweet-citrus smell with a spicy edge. The flavor is intense orange with berry and a sugary sweetness. It is one of the loudest citrus flavors on a shelf, and it does not fade fast.

Terpenes Explained

Tangerine Dream has no measured terpene panel in our data. Five terpenes are named, Myrcene and Caryophyllene and Linalool and Pinene and Limonene, without amounts.

The strong orange note comes from lighter aromatic compounds a standard panel does not capture, and it is exactly what a weak phenotype loses first. Comparing two jars for the intensity of the citrus is worth it.

Cannabinoids and Potency

Tangerine Dream THC is reported around 25 percent on menus, though the lab sample in our data is corrupted, so treat it as a strong strain in the low-to-mid twenties. CBD is a minor presence.

Tangerine Dream's flavor is what people come back for, so pick the jar with the sharpest, most intense orange smell.
