Tangie is California Orange crossed with a Skunk hybrid, from DNA Genetics, built as a modern Tangerine Dream. It has nineteen descendants on file, and much of the modern orange corner of the menu traces back to it. How loud the citrus comes still depends on the grower.

Tangie is the loudest orange smell in cannabis, and none of it is Limonene.
DNA Genetics crossed California Orange with a Skunk hybrid as a modern take on Tangerine Dream. It won ten Cannabis Cups in ten months and has become the base for dozens of citrus strains since. The measured panel is Myrcene-led with almost no Limonene.
The orange is real; the chemistry is a surprise.
What to Expect
Tangie is an up, creative strain that stays moderate. Leafly's reviewers lead with happy at 48 percent of a solid sample, uplifted at 45 and energetic at 38, with creative at 32, so it is a working afternoon high rather than a euphoric rush. The side effects are minimal.
The downside list is short. Fewer than one reviewer in six reports dry mouth, dry eyes are rarer still at 7 percent, and the anxious note barely registers. Not the strain for a big-hit experience.
Flavor and Aroma
Tangie is a sharp, sweet orange smell with a sour, skunky underlayer. The flavor is bright tangerine with a tropical sweetness. It is the reference point for orange in cannabis, the strain most citrus hybrids are chasing.
Terpenes Explained
Tangie's measured panel leads with Myrcene, from about 0.40 to 0.52 percent, then Terpinolene near 0.3, with Limonene reading almost zero.
The orange that Tangie is famous for is not coming from Limonene, which barely registers; it sits in lighter aromatic compounds outside the standard panel. A jar that smells sharply of fresh peel is the genuine cut.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Tangie THC is reported from about 19 to 22 percent, with the lab sample in our data corrupted, so the menu range is the guide. CBD is close to zero.
Tangie is a moderate strain sold on a smell, so buy it for the orange and the clean daytime lift, not the numbers.
