Origin
Wedding Cake has two competing lineage stories and they should not be blended. The most-repeated account is Cherry Pie crossed with Girl Scout Cookies. A second, also common, calls it a selected phenotype of Triangle Mints, itself usually given as Triangle Kush crossed with Animal Mints, associated with Seed Junky Genetics and sometimes labeled Triangle Mints #23.
The reason to keep both on the table is that repetition is not corroboration. The Cherry Pie account appears on more pages, but cannabis sites copy each other, so a larger count of identical retellings is the same claim amplified, not stronger evidence. Both stories trace to a small number of original sources, neither is settled, and a review that picks the more common one and calls it fact has mistaken popularity for proof. If the genetics matter to you, check the producer and the clone source.

The difficulty to grow Wedding Cake is known for being average. For growers cultivating indoors, expect average height with a high yield with in about 9 wk. Outdoors, harvest around October.
Cultivation Notes
Wedding Cake is rated average to grow. The flowers come in dense and heavy enough that late-bloom support is commonly recommended, and that density makes airflow and humidity management more than cosmetic. It flowers in roughly 8 to 9 weeks, stays medium height and yields well, with a sea-of-green setup often suggested. Color can deepen toward purple in a cool finish. These are breeder and grower accounts, so read them as expectations.

About
Wedding Cake is a modern hybrid built on very popular genetics to do a familiar job well: it makes an ordinary evening feel a little more deliberate. The name promises pure sugar, but the flower usually has more structure than that, pepper and earth holding up the sweet side.
It also comes up constantly in two kinds of conversation—winding down, and intimacy. The first is well inside what the data can speak to. The second needs care. What matters most with Wedding Cake is the line between its calm being a presence and its calm being an absence.
What to Expect
Inhaled, Wedding Cake starts in the head, a quick lift that can briefly speed thoughts up before a heavier body ease settles in behind it. Across roughly 2,400 Leafly reviews, 62 percent report relaxed, 51 happy and 43 euphoric, with a smaller appetite bump at 24 percent. The negative profile is light, dry mouth at 17 percent and everything else at 7 or below.
The reported arc is a short mental acceleration into a longer physical settle, and the line that matters runs between attentive-relaxed and gone. At a modest dose most reports keep you present, good company for a conversation or a slow evening. Past that, the same strain trades attention for drift and then for an early night. A night with nothing that needs finishing is the right home for it. Dose for presence, not for the finish.
On intimacy, the plain version: people report less self-consciousness, more attention to touch, an easier transition out of the day. Those conditions can support closeness for people who already want it. They are not desire, they are not arousal, and a heavier dose is more likely to bring dryness, drift or sleep than anything else. Consent stays an active conversation regardless, and intoxication makes that conversation harder, not easier.
Flavor and Aroma
The jar is vanilla and sweet dough with a tangy citrus lift on top and pepper and damp earth underneath. It reads more like cake batter near an open spice drawer than a finished frosted slice. Ground up, the pepper and earth come forward. The exhale is sweet with a dry, faintly peppery tail. Despite the name, most careful descriptions land on sweet-and-sour rather than dessert-sweet.
Terpenes Explained
Wedding Cake's terpene records lead with Caryophyllene around half a percent and Limonene near a third, with Myrcene close behind and a genuinely noticeable amount of Linalool, higher than in most of the strains in this group.
None of that establishes an intimacy effect, and no terpene panel could. Sexual experience is shaped by attention, expectation, comfort, the relationship, dose and health, and a terpene reading has nothing to say about any of them. What the panel is good for is recognizing the jar: Caryophyllene may carry the peppery spice and Limonene the citrus edge, with Linalool adding a soft floral note under the vanilla. Minor compounds outside the standard panel likely fill in the rest.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Wedding Cake THC runs from about 16 to 27 percent in our records, and the sample we measured landed near 20. CBD runs a little above trace, roughly a tenth to a third of a percent. CBG sits between 0.6 and one percent.
Wedding Cake is often marketed as a heavy hitter, so the batch label matters more than usual. For the use most people want, an attentive evening rather than a knockout, the higher number on the shelf is working against you. A smaller measured amount of a well-cured batch does the job with more room to stay in it.
