Genetics & Origin

Origin

24k Gold is Kosher Kush crossed with Tangie, bred by DNA Genetics, the same team behind Chocolope and LA Confidential. Kosher Kush brings the body and the Kush smell; Tangie brings the orange and the lift. It has one descendant on file. The two parents pull in opposite directions, so no two 24k Gold batches split the same way between head and body.

About

24k Gold wears an indica label but tends to play like a sativa.

DNA Genetics crossed Kosher Kush with Tangie, pairing a heavy indica with a bright orange sativa. It also goes by Kosher Tangie. The Kush smell and the citrus both come through; which effect wins seems to depend on the batch.

The label and the feeling disagree.

What to Expect

24k Gold is billed 60 percent indica, but the physical effects run long and the head stays active. Leafly's reviewers lead with relaxed at 61 percent of a solid sample and happy at 55, with a creative streak, and sources describe an uplifting Tangie euphoria over a Kosher Kush body. Where a given batch lands varies.

The comedown is clean for a strain this strong, with an anxious note down at 2 percent; dry mouth at 23 is the only real thing to plan for. Not a reliable knockout despite the indica label.

Flavor and Aroma

24k Gold is a bright orange citrus smell over a pungent, skunky Kush base. The flavor is sweet orange with a sour edge. It is one of the cleaner Kush-and-citrus pairings, with neither half burying the other.

Terpenes Explained

24k Gold's measured panel leads with Caryophyllene, from about 0.55 to 0.66 percent, with Myrcene, Limonene and Humulene bunched below it and Bisabolol unusually high.

The panel is peppery, not citrus-led, so the orange you smell sits in lighter compounds outside the readout. How much Tangie brightness comes through varies cut to cut, which is worth checking before you buy.

Cannabinoids and Potency

24k Gold THC is reported from about 18 to 24 percent, with the lab-measured sample near 20. CBD is a trace.

24k Gold does not behave like its indica label, so treat it as a balanced strain and judge each batch on how sativa it feels.
