Origin
Mt. Cook is a Kiwi Seeds indica, generally given as Northern Lights crossed with Hash Plant and an Afghani landrace, though one source simplifies it to Afghani and Thai. All the named parents are heavy, resinous lines, which is why it plays as pure sedation. It is a genuine New Zealand release, which is rare in the catalog.

About
Mt. Cook is named for New Zealand's tallest peak, and it does the opposite.
Kiwi Seeds built it from Northern Lights, Hash Plant and an Afghani landrace, an 80 percent indica. The high eases the mind first, then drops into heavy sedation. It also carries an unusually high CBD reading.
It ends you on the couch.
What to Expect
Mt. Cook works in two stages: a smooth, easy mental decompression, then a heavy physical sedation that most reviewers describe as couch-lock. The reviewer sample is thin, with happiness the only logged effect word and sleepiness and a sedated quality the logged negatives. The second stage is the stronger one.
Beyond the sleepiness, there is not much on the negative record, which for a lightly reviewed strain means unknown rather than clean. Given the sedation, keep the first dose small. This is strictly a night strain.
Flavor and Aroma
Mt. Cook smells sharp: pine and spice over a hashy, ammonia-tinged pungency. The flavor follows, diesel and spice with the same ammonia edge. It is not a sweet or easy profile.
Terpenes Explained
Mt. Cook has no measured terpene data, with only Humulene and Caryophyllene named.
Nothing is quantified, so the sharp hash-and-ammonia smell cannot be tied to a compound. A jar with that genuine pungent, hashy sharpness, rather than a soft earthiness, is closest to the description.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Mt. Cook THC is reported from about 22 to 23 percent, strong, with no clean lab sample in our data. The unusual detail is the CBD, which some readings put as high as 4 percent, well above a normal THC strain. It is potent either way.
Mt. Cook tests strong for THC and carries a genuinely high CBD reading, which is its most distinctive number.
