Nordle

Nordle is named after a smuggler's code word for hashish.

The term belonged to Howard Marks, who used it in the 1960s and 1970s. The strain is a cross of Afghani and Skunk from Mr Nice Seedbank, though at least one source instead lists Sensi Star and Afghani. It is a night-time, higher-CBD hybrid that is easy to confuse with the separate CBD Nordle.

On paper Nordle looks underwhelming: THC in the single digits, CBD roughly matching it, nothing that jumps off the label. In practice that balance is the point. Sources report a mellow, muscle-loosening relaxation with a clear rather than foggy head, an early mood lift and, eventually, sleepiness.

Leafly's breakdown, from a modest number of reviews, leads with relaxed at 73 percent, then happy at 41 and uplifted at 37, with sleepy and focused lower down. Dry mouth is the main complaint at 23 percent and a small share note an anxious or dizzy edge. It is a poor choice if you want a strong, obviously psychoactive high.

Nordle is a divisive smell. Our aroma data runs pungent and skunky with a genuine onion-and-garlic savoriness, a note some describe more kindly as funky. Underneath, sources find sweetness and a woody, earthy base. The flavor comes through sweeter and fruitier than the smell, with a spicy edge.

Nordle has no measured terpene numbers on file, just three names that recur: Myrcene, Camphene and Caryophyllene. Names alone cannot tell you how strong the smell will be or how one batch compares to another.

The savory onion-garlic quality that defines it comes largely from sulfur compounds that sit outside a standard terpene panel, so a lab report will not capture what makes this strain distinctive. Trust your nose on the jar.

Nordle THC sits low, generally single digits to around 10 percent, with CBD reported in a similar range so the two are roughly balanced. Some sources put both near 5 to 10 percent. That balance is why it reads as gentle.
