Origin
Opium's parents are a trade secret. Paradise Seeds will only say it comes from classic strains, and one unofficial account lists an Afghani crossed with a Brazilian sativa. Its 2006 Cup placing is most of the reputation. With no lineage to check, the Paradise Seeds original is the only version that means anything.

About
Opium has a heavy name, a deliberately hidden pedigree and a light, heady high.
Paradise Seeds took second at a 2006 High Times Cannabis Cup and has never disclosed the parents, calling them only classic. The effect is a clear forehead lift, not the sedation the name suggests.
The name is a bluff.
What to Expect
Opium is a cerebral strain that stays mostly in the head. Leafly's reviewers lead with relaxed at 61 percent of a solid sample, but the descriptions emphasize an uplifted, giggly high felt behind the eyes without the couch. Euphoric follows at 46.
Dizziness runs higher here than usual, at 15 percent, ahead of dry mouth at 23. The anxious note is low. It is not the sedative the name implies.
Flavor and Aroma
Opium smells sweet and fruity with a grape note. The flavor is more complex: diesel and lime with a cooling menthol edge and a tree-fruit sweetness. It is an unusual, layered profile.
Terpenes Explained
Opium has no measured terpene panel in our data, only Myrcene, Caryophyllene and Ocimene by name.
That menthol-and-lime note is distinctive and sits in lighter compounds a standard panel does not report. An Opium jar with a real cooling lift, not just sweetness, is the genuine one.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Opium THC is reported from about 17 to 21 percent, a moderate figure that matches the mild effect. One source lists it far lower, which is an error. CBD is minimal.
Opium is milder than its name, so it is a fair evening choice when you still want a clear head.
