Pineapple is Ed Rosenthal's Super Bud crossed with an unnamed strain, from Sensi Seeds, and it predates Pineapple Express by years. The Super Bud side is the documented half; the other parent is lost. It has two descendants on file. Its value now is as an older, more potent alternative to the strain it gets confused with.

Pineapple is the older, quieter strain that Pineapple Express is often mistaken for.
Sensi Seeds built it from Ed Rosenthal's Super Bud and an unnamed strain, years before the film. The name promises tropical fruit; the terpene panel leads with pepper.
The nose and the numbers disagree.
What to Expect
Pineapple is a heady, creative strain. The reviewer data is limited, but creative dominates the wider record, with an uplifted quality and a mild body settle behind it. It is an afternoon strain, not a nightcap.
Dizziness turns up more here than usual, alongside a scared note, so a smaller first dose is sensible. The effect can tip anxious at a high amount. Not the strain for a low tolerance.
Flavor and Aroma
Pineapple smells sweet and earthy with a mango note, and the flavor is where the tropical fruit lands: pineapple and sweet citrus over that earth. It is a genuine fruit strain on the palate.
Terpenes Explained
Pineapple's measured panel leads with Caryophyllene, from about 0.43 to 0.63 percent, then Myrcene near 0.3 and Limonene near 0.35, with Bisabolol unusually present.
The panel is peppery, not tropical, so the pineapple you taste sits in lighter compounds outside the standard readout. A jar that smells clearly of the fruit rather than just sweet is the one to buy.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Pineapple THC has been measured anywhere from the mid teens to the mid twenties, a wide spread that varies with the grow, and the lab sample in our data is near 18. CBD is under one percent.
Pineapple is not Pineapple Express, and it tests stronger, so do not assume the two behave alike.
