Hybrid
Origin
Purple Thai is a cross of Highland Oaxacan Gold and Chocolate Thai, from Anesia Seeds, though our records carry no formal lineage entry. Both parents are landrace-derived: the Oaxacan side brings the purple and the clear head, Chocolate Thai the mocha flavor and, along with the indica lean, the body weight. It is a heritage strain first, so buy it for the chocolate flavor and the lineage, not for a modern hybrid's polish.

The difficulty to grow Purple Thai is known for being average. For growers cultivating indoors, expect average height with a moderate yield with in about 8–10 wk. Outdoors, harvest around October.
Cultivation Notes
Purple Thai flowers over a long 11 to 13 weeks and is best grown indoors. It carries fewer trichomes than most potent strains, which can make the plant look furry rather than frosty. It finishes outdoors in October in a warm climate. Grower and breeder figures.

About
Purple Thai is a Thai strain that smells like a mocha and settles you down.
From Anesia Seeds, it crosses Highland Oaxacan Gold with Chocolate Thai, two landrace-heavy sativas. The name says Thai and purple; the reality is chocolate, coffee and a heavy, relaxed high.
What to Expect
A Thai strain should soar. Purple Thai lands. Leafly's breakdown leads with happy at 54 percent and uplifted at 51, but deeply relaxing tops the associated words. The effect is heavier than the sativa labeling suggests, and sources call it a strain for experienced consumers.
Dry mouth and dry eyes are both minimal here, near five percent, with a light headache note. The strength is the thing to watch, not the side effects.
Flavor and Aroma
Break a bud open and Purple Thai smells like chocolate and coffee, deep and rich, over an earthy base with a citrus and floral edge. It is one of the most dessert-like smells on the menu, inherited from the Chocolate Thai side. The deep purple color is anthocyanin, from the Oaxacan Gold genetics and a cool finish, and it is separate from the flavor and the effect.
Terpenes Explained
Purple Thai has no terpene panel in our data, only Humulene, Camphene, Limonene and Ocimene as recurring names without amounts. The chocolate-and-coffee note is not something any standard terpene explains.
That dessert impression comes from minor compounds the standard nine miss entirely, and it is strongest right after the bud is broken. Smell a fresh jar for it.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Purple Thai THC is reported around 20 to 24 percent, a strong level, though the lone lab reading in our data is corrupted. CBD is a trace. Sources agree it is potent and not for beginners.
Expect a strong strain in the low twenties and treat it as an evening one, whatever the Thai name suggests.
