Recon is LA Confidential crossed with Cannadential, bred by DNA Genetics, the team behind Holy Grail and Chocolope. The name is a contraction of the two parents rather than a reference to anything military. LA Confidential brings the indica weight; Cannadential brings the citrus and the fuel. For a buyer, the surprise is that the LA Confidential half does not dominate.

Recon sounds tactical but the name is a genetics pun.
It is LA Confidential crossed with Cannadential, from DNA Genetics, so Re-Con is Con-fidential plus Canna-dential. LA Confidential is a famous couch-lock indica, but Recon's effect leads with happy and creative. The heavy parent does not win here.
The name is wordplay.
What to Expect
Recon does not play like its heavy parent. Its reviewer sample is moderate but leans hard toward happiness, with a creative streak close behind and an immediate cerebral lift most sources mention. The sedation shows up later, and it is lighter than LA Confidential's.
The logged negatives are sleepiness and a sedated quality, both from the tail of the high rather than the start. Dry eyes turn up for about one reviewer in five. A standard dose is a reasonable start.
Flavor and Aroma
Recon smells of citrus and fuel, the fuel coming from the Cannadential side. The recorded flavor is softer: sweet and fruity with a flowery, earthy note. The nose is sharper than the taste.
