Parent Strain

Santa Maria

Hybrid

Origin

Santa Maria is a stabilized backcross of Mexican Haze and Silver Pearl with Amazonian landrace roots, worked over seven generations. Our records carry no formal lineage entry. Its lasting importance is as breeding stock: crossed with Lowryder, it produced Lowryder 2 and set the template for stable autoflowering strains. The heritage story is real, even if the marketing overstates the mysticism.

2 lineage claim sets recorded. The one shown is attributed to No Mercy Supply; the others are in the tabs above, each with its own source.

The difficulty to grow Santa Maria is known for being average. For growers cultivating indoors, expect average height with a moderate yield with in about 8 wk. Outdoors, harvest around End of September/October.

Cultivation Notes

Santa Maria finishes outdoors at the end of September or into October and was stabilized over seven backcrosses, so it grows true from seed. Yield and height are not documented in our data. Its consistency is the practical draw, and it is a reason the genetics ended up in so many autoflower lines. Grower and breeder figures.

About

Santa Maria is marketed as mystical and is really the strain that fixed autoflowering.

It descends from Amazonian ritual landraces crossed repeatedly with Mexican Haze and Silver Pearl, stabilized over seven backcrosses. Its actual claim to fame is technical: crossed into Lowryder, it produced Lowryder 2, the first workable autoflower.

What to Expect

The exotic-and-erotic marketing promises a lot. The strain is modest. Leafly's breakdown leads with uplifted at 62 percent and happy at 59, with relaxed at 55 close behind, from a solid number of reviews, describing a pleasant, mild lift rather than an overwhelming one. The low THC keeps it manageable.

A headache note is flagged very heavily in a separate reviewer set, more than the mild dry mouth. Hydrate, and keep the dose sensible if headaches are a concern for you.

Flavor and Aroma

Santa Maria is sweet and fruity with a fresh, delicate floral note over a light earthy base. It is a soft, pleasant smell rather than a loud one. The flavor adds a citrus and herbal edge with a tropical sweetness.

Terpenes Explained

Santa Maria has no measured terpene data, only Humulene, Caryophyllene and Ocimene as recurring names. Ocimene fits the fresh, sweet, floral character, but nothing here is measured.

The delicate aroma is easy to lose to a rough cure, so the freshness of the jar matters more here than with a pungent strain. Smell for the floral note.

Cannabinoids and Potency

Santa Maria THC is reported around 12 to 14 percent, low by current standards. CBD is a trace. Our wider band runs lower still on data noise. This is not a potent strain, and sources say so plainly.

Expect a mild high in the low teens; if you want strength, this is not the strain for it.
