The short version is Lemon Skunk crossed with Super Silver Haze, from Green House Seeds. The longer version: Green House began with a Super Silver Haze female, itself a Haze, Skunk #1 and Northern Lights #5 blend, and bred it to Lemon Skunk, which had reached Amsterdam from Las Vegas. A couple of sources instead credit early Washington cultivators. The Green House account is the best documented, so it is the one to go with, with the rest noted as minor disagreement.

Super Lemon Haze has won so many cups it is fair to be a little suspicious of it. Back-to-back High Times Cannabis Cups in 2008 and 2009, an IC420 Growers Cup the year after, close to twenty awards in all.
A trophy shelf like that can mean a strain is genuinely excellent. It can also mean it photographs well and finishes fast enough to keep entering. The cups do not tell you which.
Whether it still does a job once the judging is over is the better question.
What to Expect
The Leafly breakdown, from about 4,600 reviews, is unusually flat: happy, uplifted and energetic all within two points of each other in the low fifties, euphoric at 46, creative at 39. This is a strain that picks one register, bright and up with a little creative lean, and holds it for the length of the session.
Under all the awards is a strain that shows up for work. It suits a creative or working session, errands that move faster with some momentum, any setting where you want to be up and engaged. No use for winding down. The honest catch is the ceiling: paranoia turns up in about one review in fourteen and anxiety in one in twenty, with the same racy edge most strong sativas can bring, so keep the first dose modest. Dry mouth and dry eyes are the minor complaints, near 27 and 16 percent. An edible changes the clock entirely and misses the point of a quick daytime lift.
Flavor and Aroma
Super Lemon Haze smells like lemon drops. Not fresh peel, not cleaning product, but candy, sweet and tart at once, with a thin line of herbal spice running through it. Grinding it sharpens the citrus. The exhale stays sweet and sour. This is one of the genuinely lemon-forward strains, and unlike most of them the taste keeps up with the smell.
Terpenes Explained
Super Lemon Haze is a fair place to talk about the entourage effect without inflating it. Terpinolene tops the measured panel, then Caryophyllene and Myrcene, with only a modest amount of Limonene, which is a mild surprise for a strain this lemony.
That gap is the point. The aroma is more than the three biggest names on a lab sheet. Minor terpenes, esters and other volatile compounds carry the citrus that the Limonene figure alone does not cover. The entourage effect is the reasonable proposal that cannabinoids and terpenes might shape the overall experience together, an open research question rather than a recipe. Treat it as a reason to compare whole batches by how they smell and feel, not as grounds to expect a particular mood from a particular number.
Cannabinoids and Potency
Super Lemon Haze has spent years marketed near the top of the potency charts. The measured picture is more ordinary: our samples land near 18 percent against a reported range of roughly 15 to 25, solid upper-mid and not exceptional. CBD never reaches a level that would matter for anything CBD is used for.
For a daytime strain the THC number is not the reason to pick it. A well-cured mid-range jar brings less of the racy edge.
