The common account is a cross of Mexican and Thai sativas with an Afghani indica, but the strain exists as a clone-only cut from Arcata, California, and no seed version is the original. Trainwreck is named for a wreck and smells like a lemon grove.
It is a clone-only cut from Arcata, California, built from Mexican, Thai and Afghani landraces, though the exact recipe is disputed. The sharp citrus-and-pine nose gives no hint of the name, and the effect is a fast rush that settles rather than a crash.
What to Expect
Trainwreck hits quickly and then eases off. Leafly's breakdown leads with euphoric at 55 percent, then happy at 50 and uplifted at 46, from a large sample, describing a sharp cerebral onset that mellows into a relaxed, creative state within the hour.
Dry mouth is the main complaint near 31 percent, with dizziness and paranoia each around one in ten. The onset can feel intense, so a smaller first dose is sensible.
Flavor and Aroma
Trainwreck is sharp lemon and pine with a pungent, spicy, almost menthol edge and an earthy base. It is one of the more aggressive citrus-pine smells on the menu. The taste follows with a peppery, herbal bite through the exhale.
