Utopia Haze traces to Brazilian landrace sativa stock, selected and stabilized by Barney's Farm, with some listings adding a Grass Dream cross. The Brazilian heritage is where the hashy flavor and the trippy, upright head come from. The 2008 Cup win is the reason a landrace-based sativa ended up in wide commercial circulation rather than staying a specialist's plant.

Utopia Haze is a Cup-winning Brazilian sativa that is easier to grow than most of its kind.
Barney's Farm developed it from Brazilian landrace stock, and it took best sativa at the 2008 High Times Cup. It keeps the long, trippy Haze head but finishes in about ten weeks instead of fourteen.
What to Expect
The effect notes on file are split evenly between energetic, relaxed and trippy, which points to a strong, slightly psychedelic head rather than a simple lift. Sources describe a clear, creative daytime high with no crash at the end.
