Origin

White Russian is AK-47 crossed with a White Widow clone, from Serious Seeds. AK-47 brings the sharp, fast head; White Widow brings the resin and the potency. It won a Cannabis Cup overall in the 1990s and put Serious Seeds on the map. It has two descendants on file, and the Serious Seeds line is the one with the record.

3 lineage claim sets recorded. The one shown is attributed to Capricorn Seed Company; the others are in the tabs above, each with its own source.

About

White Russian is named for a creamy cocktail and tastes of citrus, pine and skunk.

Serious Seeds crossed AK-47 with an award-winning White Widow clone, and it won a Cannabis Cup overall in the 1990s. Sources cannot agree whether it plays as a sativa or an indica. There is nothing creamy about it.

The name is a joke.

What to Expect

White Russian is a strong, introspective head high with a body settle underneath. Leafly's reviewers lead with happy at 56 percent of a solid sample, euphoric at 52 and uplifted at 49, with creative at 34. Some sources call it a daytime lift, others a couch-lock; the dose decides.

Dizziness turns up more here than usual at 11 percent, alongside a paranoid note, and dry mouth sits at 31. The strength is what to respect, not the side effects. Not a strain to overdo.

Flavor and Aroma

White Russian is a sharp citrus-and-pine smell with a skunky, spicy base. The flavor keeps the citrus and pine with a woody edge. Despite the cocktail name, there is no sweetness or cream to it.

Terpenes Explained

White Russian has no terpene test in our data, with only Myrcene and Caryophyllene named.

The citrus-pine-skunk character sits in lighter compounds a standard panel does not report, and whether a given White Russian leans up or down seems to track how it was grown. Comparing two jars is worth it if you have a preference.

Cannabinoids and Potency

White Russian THC is reported from about 19 to 25 percent, a strong range, with no clean lab sample in our data. Sources describe it as unusually potent for its era. CBD is a trace.

White Russian is stronger than its gentle name and can go either way on the couch, so start low and see which direction it takes you.
